M5 3-3 St Neots Mens 2

Stu Creed

“The warm up consisted of a run through the undergrowth followed by clearly not enough stretching for some (Dan). South took the lead early through some good tenacity by Berti down the left wing followed by a quality cut back for Rob to tap home. Neots then swiftly replied via means I won’t comment on. Our second was a delightful move. After a prolonged period of slick passing Peter picked up the ball inside his own half and set off. Dribbling past rather a lot of men he played a 1 two with dad and proceeded to dribble pass more men before passing it across the goal keeper to Kieran to slot in his first goal for the club. After half time another slick south move brought more rewards. A lovely one two between Kieran and Stuart found the former in behind. Getting his head up he picked out Peter who was top D who slotted it home -3:1
In the last 10 minutes, the umpires decided to make things interesting as South seemingly were cruising to victory. Two cards later meant South were down to 9 men and the conversion of a stroke for Neots  meant things got tense. 2 minutes from time Neots equalised with South’s fitness flagging.
All round however a brilliant team effort and unfortunate with the result after some brilliant hockey. “

Congrats @Keiran on your first senior goal. Great stuff! It has been coming for a while. The first of many we anticipate!
