M1 1-3 Norwich City Mens 2

Connor Trimble

After a hard-fought draw at home against second placed UEA last week, it was the biggest test of the season for the M1s with an away day to top of the table Norwich City. After some great recent performances, hopes were high that we could get a win to take us closer to the promotion battle.

The game started with a dominant first 25 minutes where the M1s played out well through Norwich’s high press before a great team goal was finished off by Tim. Towards the end of the half, Norwich showed their quality and equalised before threatening with a couple of short corners to end the half.

The second half was back and forth with both teams having periods of dominance. Despite going close from open play with chances from Harry and Oscar, in the battle of the short corners Norwich scored two while we scored none to take the game away from us.
