How many bananas does it take to be a lemon?

Hannah Snow

Bananas 1 & 2:

We arrived in Peterbourough's changing rooms to find Lucia with a bunch of 5 bananas. 2 were promptly consumed, and an important business phone call was taken outside (perhaps to her banana supplier for restocking? - we'll never know). Jenny gave a team talk and we all discussed how many bananas were needed to get potassium poisoning - some said 7, some said 70, the correct answer is in fact 400, where we determined that potassium poisoning would probably be the least of your worries if you'd eaten 400 bananas.

The game started well but we struggled to get the ball out of their very high, tight press, which led to a lot of early defensive work, but we succeeded to keep the ball out of our goal. We started to get into the rhythm and had some great passages of attacking play, but we just couldn't get a score on the board. Unfortunately we went into half time 1-0 down as a slippery situation left Loopy and a number of defenders in the D off balance.

Banana 3:

We had a really positive talk and we knew we could come away with a win. Lucia decided it was time to crack into another banana, which, of course, meant she couldn't start on pitch, but promised to take a tired Hannah S off as soon as she had finished eating. The second half started well with chances in their D, but again no goals came :( We had a few shorts and there were some big strops from the opposition despite it being their ball. It’s now over half way through the second half and not only had Lucia finished her banana but she looked very settled in her dry robe with no signs of coming back on - with an exhausted Hannah S standing on pitch shouting “Lucia will we be doing any subbing!”. After her break Hannah ran back on to play with the wrong stick, which was the nail in her LOM coffin. Peterborough now entered slow motion play with everything taking them AGES. When they got a short, Tamsin even got the ball for them and put it on the mark to try and speed things up a bit - but an underwhelming short from them resulted in a score of 2-0.

Banana 4:

One more post match banana for Lucia, which was now looking like a good move as match teas were some sad looking pizzas.

MOM votes were well distributed between the midfield and defence with votes to Kate, Jess and Alice for great midfield play, and to Carrie, Loopy, Sarah and Hannah K for amazing defence but overall Jenny won with her solid and relentless defending.

LOM votes to Jess Barnes for a strop on pitch after being tripped up (video available on request I believe) and Alice W seemed to think that when you go to posh places for tea the cup and saucer are ATTACHED!

Banana 5

We do not know what happened to banana 5 but we can only assume it was consumed on the journey home.

You may be unsure as to why Lucia did not receive LOM for this banana behaviour, so the answer to the question- How many bananas does it take to be lemon? Clearly more than 5

Enjoyed eating her bananas too much to come on the pitch
