One hell of an 11

Harry Lusty

It was a chilly morning as various car departed Cambridge. The arrival to Peterborough had various success. Starting with Harry who left her mouth guard and went to various stores to find one, (JD sports don’t sell sports stuff), then proceeded to mould in in hot water and Naomi’s bagel Tupperware – earning a solid LOM. After re-group the team hit the pitch.

Pushback: South settled into the first half with ease. Passing the ball confidently in the back between, Julie and Ruth with both Vicki and Lauren working the side. Lauren and Vicki really worked as a team pushing the play back and driving up for the mids. Vinnie and Polly used these opportunities the move together and work with Eleanor to build the play. The forwards Rittman and Naomi push down the pitch to help with a couple shots across the D that was half time.

Half time: sweet selection provided by Eleanor (Thank you!). The Tangfastics and Sports mix (they give you special sporting powers) gave us all energy and we all agreed to play as we were and hold it at a draw.

Second Half: Much the same as the first half, but with only 11 players the South side was tiring. We pushed on for which felt and age and with on disallowed goal for Peterborough they re-double effort and were chasing the goal that was proving elusive for both sides. Mainly because of the ninja moves from Elly in the goal, flying all over the place. Julie at this point came into a world of her own - once again earning her 4th/5th? POM of the season for amazing defensive play, and some great tackles. Also, special mentioned to all the defensive as they all had a great day and really did South proud . Peterborough scored with 5 minutes to go, and that was it. The score was 1-0, but the performance of South was one of the best the L5s has had all season.

ONE HELL OF AN ELEVEN. So big up the L5s.

For forgetting a mouthguard and having to go to the shop and mould one in Naomi's tupperware 30 minutes before pushback
