With a beautiful day upon us and after watching a thrilling M1s game and a close L1s game; the L2s were ready!! Another big game, another 3 points needed to keep us in contention of promotion spot and finishing top 3 in the league.

We started off a little bit frantic, but Emily took our nerves away at the 20 minute mark with Cait scoring not far behind with a beaut deflection touch round the keeper. 2-0 and half time.

Quick chat from Jess of taking a bit more time, composure, control and stronger passing led to a much more L2s play 2nd half. Lots of chances in the D with some great saves from their keeper which led to Jess  falling flat on her face as she was flipped over the top. A few minutes of being winded she was back on her feet.

There was some fantastic play from our backs (Hayley being a consitent wall, Emma always getting oppos cheeky feet with Rhian and Anna holding the fort) to our mids to our forward lines (fab workrate from Rhi) with lovely triangles down the wing which led to our 3rd goal. Some controversy here as Emily meant to slip to Jess but instead the pass went towards the goal, Jess forgetting that she was a forward and not a centre back like in training, stopped the ball dead on the line before realising and slotting it home - massive lemon, goal thief and justice for Emily apparently (I am so sorry Em - love you)!

Our mids were working tirelessly to keep their key player at bay, marking her out the game and keeping us in control. Soph was running rings round the oppo with her smooth skills and Izzy was playing a blinder making some beautiful passes. Emily M was just driving forward as a half back and Immy controlled the play up the middle as CDM.

The 4th goal came from a 16, pass from Jenny (finding the space with her hit) to Izzy to Emily to Jess (this time it was actually Jess’)!! Hannah earned herself POM for being a superstar in the middle, but everyone had a superb game!

Full time 4-1, guaranteed top 3 finish!

Sad day for the L2s as today was the last game we would see Zoe in goal as she is jetting off to Uni - we will miss you, you have been amazing!! You can commute back from Uni right?

Thanks to the umpires and to the supporters - great game of hockey all round!
