Training

Astro Training

Astro-based training is on Tuesday evenings during the hockey season from September to April, at the Leys School Astro. Pre-session warm-up with a short run and stretching starts from 7.30pm and the astroturf is available 8pm to 9pm.

Training is free (paid for by match fees - so it's in your best interest to attend) and is open to all members of the club (the men and ladies train together), so you have no excuses not to attend.

Emphasis is placed on covering individual skills and teamwork exercises, to make best use of the time on the astro. Fitness training is the responsibility of the individual players.

Our training sessions are run by Jorge O'Ryan, a national league level player, and Sean Park, a regular player in the East Premier A League

After training, we can be found enjoying a drink (and some very welcome complimentary sausage and chips!) around the corner at The Panton Arms.

Six-a-Side Training

The club also organises informal weekly six-a-side sessions on Wednesday evenings during the season, 8pm to 9pm, on the mini-astroturf pitch at Bottisham Sports Centre (Lode Road, Bottisham, CB25 9DL). A session consists of a small, fast-paced game and costs £3 per person. Each session can accommodate up to 12 people and they are open to anyone in the club.

Sessions have now restarted after the off-season break. To book a place, simply contact James Raikes (jamesraikesis at yahoo.co.uk) any time during the week prior to the session you wish to attend.
