Fantasy League Introduction and Rules
Back by popular demand for the 2011/12 season is the Cambridge South Hockey Club Fantasy League. Pick a team of South players and earn points according to their team and personal performances.
Practice League
The League will run for matches from 1 November onwards. Before that date you can enter a team and make as many changes as you want. All scores will be zeroed out on 1 November so you can use this initial period as a trial to see how your team pans out.
Rules
- All South players have been put into nominal Squads and given nominal Positions as per the list here. These may not be the teams and / or positions that they actually play throughout the season but for the purposes of the Fantasy League they are set at the start of the season.
- Pick a team of 11 players in a 4-4-2 formation (ie you must have a GK, 4 Defenders, 4 Midfield and 2 Forwards).
- You must pick at least one player from each South team (M1, M2, M3, M4, L1 & L2)
- You cannot pick more than 3 players from any one team.
- You must pick at least 3 ladies in your team.
- Points are scored according to how the team in which the player is playing performs and according to the player's own performance. See the table below for the scoring rules.
- Players score points for whichever team they actually play, irrespective of which Fantasy League club squad they are in.
- Players score points according to their Fantasy League position, not according to the position that they actually play in the match. So if someone is listed as a Fantasy League Defender then they score points as a defender even if they actually end up playing a match up front as a forward.
- Points will only be scored for Saturday (and Sunday) League, Cup & competitive Friendly games.
- If a player doubles up and plays more than one game on the same day then only the game played for the higher club side will count. So if a lady doubles up for L1 and L2 then only the game for L1 will count. This is irrespective of the player's nominal Fantasy League squad.
- Enter your team by emailing the administrator.
- You can make unlimited transfers until 31 Oct 2011, after which date you can make up to 4 transfers each month AFTER Christmas.
- Of course, the administrator's decision is final!

- If a player shares a Man of the Match then they receive a pro-rata share of the MOM points. So if 3 people share the MOM in a match then they each score 1.33 Fantasy MOM points.
- Points won in each category are added up for each player and then rounded away from zero.
