Indoor Team come back from a goal down to beat Perse U18b by 3 goals to 2

Cambridge South Indoor 3 - 2 Perse U18b

H/T: 1 - 2

Scorers: Paul South, Paul Spiers (2)

South began their Indoor season with a hard-fought win against the Perse's Under 18b team. An early setback came in the form of a early goal gifted to the opposition, but South were soon putting pressure on at the other end as Chris Graveling nearly converted a short corner. The scores were levelled shortly after as Paul Spiers converted another short corner after some good build up play had led to the set piece. In a rare loss of concentration, South allowed a Perse forward to escape the notice of the defence. He restored the lead to leave South 2-1 down at half time.

The second half saw South draw level through a well-finished goal from Spiers slotting home past the advancing Perse keeper. South defended resolutely for a spell and did a good job of protecting Steve Parker's goal as Tom South and James Cobbe made some good leads up front, continually harrying the Perse defence. Jim Thorpe's mazy run along the right-hand board nearly brought a goal for Cobbe. Soon enough South took the lead for the first time; the Perse forwards hesitated and as Spiers led the centre away with him, Rich Morgan was able to cut inside from right back to send the ball straight through the middle to Paul South. His quick turn bought him half a yard of space to finish low to the keeper's left.

South can be pleased with a winning start to the season and next face the 18a team, who are likely to prove very tough opposition.
