Ladies 1 put in a sterling effort for the first match of the season. Fielded a very strong team of returning and new players, mainly mid-fielders who had to play out of position either in the front-line or defence. Loopy was positively bored for the majority of the match with possession nearly all ours and a number of great attacks on goal. Managed a brilliant press considering this had not been practiced this season yet, and managed to keep the ball up the right end of the pitch on most of the opposition's 16 yard hits. Although we were easily in a great position to score on many of occasions, the first goal didn't come until the second half when we were joined by Leonie from the 2s. New comer Saskia did a brilliant pass across goal, which Leonie punted into the left corner.

Unfortunately they had one lucky break in the last ten minutes, with a 2 on 1 against the keeper which we lost to even the score. But overall, we've proved we can work brilliantly as a team right from the start, and I think it was a great opening game.
