M2s convert again St Ives

Ron Oren

Bullet point match reports are obviously the done thing, so here goes:

  • Hockey is lots more fun when the sun is shining. Winning also helps.
  • Pre-match short corner practice is a good idea: 1 short, 1 goal [note to team - get more shorts!]. The fact that the goal included a fluffed injection and a less-that-threatening strike is neither here nor there.
  • Dave Halse rocks and should not be allowed to play football over hockey again.
  • Lead runs by new Olly (Woodford), Tim and Southy create confusion in the defence, allowing big Tom to score.
  • Dom can make it through a whole game without throwing a tantrum.
  • Colin can't make it through a whole game without throwing an aerial.
  • We defend fairly well against shorts, but really shouldn't be giving them away in double figures.
  • Venner should play M3s more often - it seems to work for both teams.
  • Big Tom scares the Red Bull with his post-match banter.

Which leaves just one more point: bring on the 1s next week!
