'A game of two halves'

What a fantastic last league game of the season.

The game didn't start so well with three players dropping out at the last minute and Lyn being slightly delayed arriving, meaning captain Cath (who was injured and running a half marathon the next day) had to start on the pitch.

Unfortunately when Lyn did arrive to swop on for Cath, she promptly injured herself after a few minutes on the pitch so Cath decided it was a good idea to put herself back on at centre-mid for the remainder of the game(?)

The first half was rather slow but we went in to half time 1-0 up (with a goal deflected in by a Newmarket defender).

After a bit of a 'talking to', the second half started with a completely different game after some switching around of players. It was like magic. We were scoring goal after goal. Ellie didn't quite manage to finish off any goals despite running from the 16 in to the D a few times.

A pretty good finish to a brilliant season with a 7-0 win away.

For saying "I've never been injured in a hockey game" before promptly getting a shoulder to her face
