L2 3-1 Wisbech Town Ladies 3

Lou Walker

With Cath stuck at work and Emma stuck on the motorway, it looked like we were going to have to play this game with only ten players. Fortunately, Sana, who had only turned up to watch the game, was roped into playing as various people chipped in to provide her with a kit. It proved to be a good move as she did a great job in defensive midfield with some good marking.

This was a great team performance all round, with lots of running and some great passes. Sadly it was Lyn's last one for South, but she went out on a high with a storming defence, making several vital clearances and tackles.

Forwards Lauren, Pippa and Jo were working well together with some great runs and crosses. It paid off with a hat trick for Jo.

Wisbech pulled a goal back later in the second half.

George was strong in midfield, frequently running past several players and feeding the ball up to the forwards. Saskia was also defending very well, and inners Charlotte and Liz were working hard up and down the line.

This was a friendly and enjoyable game and a great way to finish the season.
