HAPPY Valentines

Jess Robins
So a dedicated team of Southerners headed to Captain G's old stomping ground to try and end a disappointing few weeks of results. Sadly our 14 man strong team had turned to 11 with a few extras being called up last minute to make the journey!! Thank you guys  you know who you are!
Whistle went and we were away.
Not 100% sure what really happened in the first half and I have managed to leave the notes we made somewhere between Cambridge and Bury St Edmunds but I think it went something like this:
1. We passed a bit
2. We moved a bit
3. Georgie got annoyed at herself (god knows why)
4. We had a few shots
5. We missed too many shots
6. Jess got frustrated
7. Anne and Lottie bossed the inner positions
8. Sophie had super skills
9. We scored from a shot corner dodgy but accurate shot (finally)
10. Half time talk and sweets!
11. We started to play more as a team
12. We passed brilliantly into the space. well done team!
13. Jess got even more frustrated... Shouting though gritted teeth DOES NOT, I repeat DOES NOT help or sort things.. Note to self!
14. Laura and Sophie worked together like pro's and did some great linking passes
15. Sophie dived/got down on her knees and scored a sweet goal!
16. They scored... Grrrrr
17. Diane looked like a giant next to her opposite number
18. Newbie Emma had a stormer and never gave up
19. Georgie never stopped running and was a super star so got clear  MOM
20. Jess was too frustrated for what is meant to be a day full of love and happiness getting so got LOM!
Well done team so that was a 2-1 win for us and happy evening of early bedtimes as we all had to get up on a Sunday morning to do it all again against St Ives.
Some may think we don't have a life but I think we are just dedicated!
