What a game!

This week we played incredibly well.

In the first half Steph, our lucky charm, managed to get the first goal (her second of the season) from a long corner. One of the highlights may have been the celebrations with the whole team taking it in turns to hug and high five our star player...

Just before the half time whistle the whole of South had pushed forward, ready for another goal but losing possession Nomads were quickly on a break - somehow every South player stuck to their player and got back perfectly to turn the ball over again. This week was the perfect example of attacking as a team and defending as a team.

In the second half Naomi set up newbie Anna to get a goal in her debut game.

I don't remember much more about the game other than the tense short corner just before the final whistle. Whilst we knew we had won by this point we were NOT letting anything in. All attackers sprinted hard from the halfway line and just as we made it back another short was called. Fortunately it was cleared well with Jen and Yumann providing the solid defence they had managed the whole game.
