A Game in Keeping with the Spirit of Cambridge United

Charlotte Moss

We had a really strong team for this game which meant the opportunity for substitutions. This seemed to lead to a very energetic first half as we could bring on fresh legs! The first half saw a number of good linked runs into the opposition D but unfortunately we were unable to capitalise on these.

Lilla's sixteen yard hits gave us some great opportunity's down the middle of the pitch but the opposition were very good at intercepting the ball and also strong on the break which meant the defense had a tough job in protecting the D. The play was even at half time.

The second half saw our opposition really push up which unfortunately seemed to transfer to a number of short corners for them, none of which they were quite able to get round the 'rock' which was Loopy! We caught a couple of breaks when we were able to play the ball round the back of their high attacking line but again could not quite threaten in the D. The balance of play was with the opposition and we did very well to end with a draw.

A good game with a deserved scoreline.

This was a stunning performance, brilliant runs and always looking to get the ball forward.

Lilla made the classic error of a night at Lola Lo's before the match. Enough said!

For being "reliably late".
