Great Team work!

The team had a great start, all arriving in Haverhill nicely on time and having carefully remembered to wear the YELLOW away kit, as firmly told by their VC (i.e. me) in the pre-match email. So it was with a sinking heart that we were greeted by Haverhill also wearing their very yellow kit…

Elaine saved the day however, with an ingenious trip to Aldi to buy gaffer tape. Our yellow socks were soon all tightly taped over with black gaffer and we were ready to play, crisis averted.

The first half saw our defence heavily tested but Lilla, Nicola, Lou and Laura battled together well to keep the ball out of the D, and Shannon made many a fantastic save when it did slip through. Even so, Haverhill managed to bag four goals.

By the second half we had got more into our stride and the hard work of our midfield players managed to get the ball to our forwards for some goal opportunities. Sadly, none were scored but we did make sure that Haverhill's goal count was lower in the second half, so there's one small victory… Well done all!

For telling the team to wear the same colour as the opposition...
