We started this match really well with a lot of energy and pressure into the opponents D, which paid off with an early goal. The opportunity was very well worked by Lauren and Liz for Charlotte to get on the end of a lovely ball across goal. We kept threatening in the first half and were unlucky not to convert the play into another goal.

Our opponents were very strong in the tackle and had a lot of home support and although the second half started brightly again for South, we conceded a goal early in the half. We had a few high ball instances and minor injuries, which slowed the play a bit. The further goals for Newmarket were won from short corners and were very unlucky to have just slipped by our defence.

All in all a hard and physical game, but I think the team can be proud of the effort shown by all.
