Has anyone seen Little Chris?

Simon Cooper

The team had a major problem in the dressing room this week; a missing member.

The other issue was that we again contrived to lose a game against Peterborough in which all of the salient stats were in our favour, apart from the scoreline.

We'd managed to carve through the away side's defensive line relatively easily in the opening minutes and there were a couple of near misses. The concession of a goal softer than Mr Soft softly sucking a Trebor softmint spoiled the first half though and it was time to roll our sleeves up at half time.

We definitely tried to lift things, but if anything were maybe guilty of trying just a little too hard. Tom Dunn managed to earn himself a two minute breather but was otherwise at the forefront of the good things we did put together - the diminutive guile in midfield to complement Jon's...solidity.

A short corner goal - they happen - suddenly stretched the gap and as we were forced to chase the game, a third followed. That really did flatter the visitors but sadly for us, Shin's late drag-flick was very much a consolation effort.

One curious incident aside, this was a performance very pleasing on the eye. Plenty of classy efficiency, like a German car.

Should by rights have been Coops, but Engine just had the Edge with the previous evening's boasts of his satisfaction ratings.
