A Fairlie Good Result

Kim Cooil

Today it was Fairlie cold. Most of us arrived on time, Emma Moss was Fairlie late but not as late as Jeffers. We started our warm up Fairlie well, but ended up talking about spicy Bombay mix and dauphinois potatoes (potatoes cut and baked in a creamy sauce - see here for a Fairlie good recipe).

This caused us to have a Fairlie average start. LolaLou started by demonstrating moves that not only left her as lemon, but should also be left on the dance floor at Lola's. 1-0 to March. Astro pitch - 1 LolaLou - 0. Fortunately some stern words, quick passing, Sophie and Lainey meant that their lead was Fairlie short-lived.

The first half finished in a flurry of goals, with Soph getting a hat-trick (plus another one in the second half (so, Graham, how many did you score today?) and South being Fairlie happy with the half. It must be added that by this time it was probably astro pitch - 4 LolaLou - 0.

The second half was Fairlie bloody dramatic. Jeffers arrived and Flix left, more goals came from Lainey, Soph and Jeffers. Emma and Georgie didn't retreat 5. Sneadey had to give some Fairlie stern words to the March supporters. A green card was awarded to someone that wasn't me. Georgie Howling got smashed in the face by a ball and told the opposition to "Get away from me!" This, as well as her fantastic play, earned her MOM. There was blood, a bit more blood and Shin the dentist to the rescue. Oh and I broke my stick, the wooden one. Splinters everywhere!!! Bit sadder about it than I'd like to admit...

Battled throughout and courageous response after a nasty ball to the face.

LolaLou - perhaps you could keep your moves for the dance floor?
