Where is the Toilet Lady?

Hannah Kenyon

After wondering around trying to find the pitch, the Cambridge South ladies eventually located the one of two astro pitches Oundle school has. Having walked across the pitch to the very solid dugouts, we look back and notice a line of muddy footprints…where were they from? Looking around at the shoes, we notice Iona has somehow managed to gather mud not only on her shoes but up her socks as well. After raising potential for a Lemon vote, Iona starts adamantly making fun of Grace's bag, insisting this is lemon-worthy. This bullying only continued to lock in Iona's Lemon vote.

After the long trip, the first thing on everyone's mind was 'where are the toilets?'. After a short conversation with Oundle, we discovered the toilets were locked and we would need to wait for the Toilet Lady to arrive. Nevermind, lets warm up and - wait, is that the Toilet Lady? A gaggle of South ladies went to investigate…false alarm, that wasn't the Toilet Lady. Let's warm up.

Much to the dismay of the team, the match started without the Toilet Lady making an appearance. South start strong, getting the ball into Oundle’s half a few times. Oundle bounce back and manage a few counter-runs. South manage to counterattack and Gnomes hits the ball: it bounces off the post! A short scrabble in the D as everyone remembers there's a rebound to play for and Oundle clear it.

At some point Emma Smith took a tumble, then Grace took a tumble, and Serin fell over her feet so she didn't feel left out. Even though it was a fairly even first half, Oundle managed to score a goal making the half time score 1-0.

At half time we hear rumours that the Toilet Lady has finally arrived! After shuffling the subs to ensure maximum toilet break time is available, the second half starts.

South come out strong and a textbook cross from Emma Smith to Flo on the post secures an equalising goal. Some more hockey occurred and Oundle scored another. We had several short corners in the second half but were unfortunately unable to convert them into goals. Everyone played well (shown by the many MoM nominations) and although it didn't lead us to a win, we had great fun.

Special note on the teas directions: “Turn right out of the school then pass three cars and turn right again. Something-something cricket pitches.” They did serve some delicious chilli though and we discovered just how much Serin loves bread.

Muddy footprints, bullying Grace, hitting Eimear in the face when reenacting Friday night's events.
