A Solid Performance

Laura Edge

This was always going to be a tough match. After beating Ely 17-0 last week and with the score against us running into double digits last time, St Ives were formidable opponents.

The L3s showed all of the grit and determination that is going to lead to more points later in the season. St Ives really had to work hard for the first goal, which came mid-way through the first half. This was followed by a second goal before half time.

Jelly Babies and, controversially, Caramel Chocolate Buttons that should have revived the team during the break didn't seem to work. St Ives came out and quickly scored two in succession. I won't be buying chocolate as a midpoint snack in future. Apparently it was also too claggy.

South did have a number of breaks and should be very proud of their performance. A credit to them and the people who have been helping the team throughout the season!
