Nev WarrenThe newly resurrected Cambridge Indoor Hockey Premier League was a breath of fresh air for those who are lovers of the indoor variation. Cambridge Nomads attached a high priority on the finals night of putting out a very strong and capable squad that eventually ended in an equal 3rd place shared with the equally gifted Perse Staff.
South played arguable their best game in the whole tournament. They were quick and clever in the attack and also able to produce their best defensive display in limiting a talented team to few clear cut opportunities. Although the squad knew we had two more games to play the team played themselves into the ground. It is a testament to the squad that has played this season that they were capable of producing such high quality against an opposition of such calibre.
The two Nomads goals came from Drag flicks. The first arrowed in of the side of the post at thigh height and the second kissed the underside of the bar in the top left corner. No disgrace in either of the goals conceded. A massive team performance that probably drained a lot more out of the squad than originally thought.
Collective Man of the Matches all around!
Nobody At All
Nobody actually deserved a lemon for this excellent team display
