The First 'Real' League Match

Laura Edge

In advance of this match Jan had said that, "All the indicators are this will be an even match that either side could win." This proved to be a highly accurate prediction of how the game would be played, with the lack of subs for the South side possibly being the factor stopping this ending in a nil-nil scoreline.

South, in M2s' style, struggled to get into the game for the first ten to fifteen minutes, battling hard to get the ball from inside their D. After this, play became more even, with some nice breaks by South but also the requirement for some hard runs back when the ball was turned back over by St Ives. The St Ives goal came in the second half, from a chance similar to those had by South at the other end of the pitch, just squeezing into the goal.

A great and even match between the sides.
