Men's 1sts lose to St Ives 1

Despite being assembled in body a good thirty minutes before the push back, Cambridge South arrived in spirit half an hour too late for this match. By the half way point St Ives had already notched up three goals, thanks largely to defensive complacency, the first of which came in the opening five minutes.

Half time came and with more determination South went about getting back into the match. After sustained periods of good pressure the breakthrough came when Chris Baker and Ryan Thomas combined to set up John Taylor for a well earned goal. The comeback was short lived, however, as St Ives rallied and their skilful forwards opened up the South defence again for another couple of quick goals.

With only three more matches left in the season the team will have to find at least one more win from somewhere if they're to lift themselves off the bottom of the table.
