Men's 1sts thrash Long Sutton 2

Cambridge South, proudly sponsored by PwC, bounced back from the previous week's defeat with a comprehensive win over Long Sutton, in their second league game of the season.

Cambridge beat Long Sutton in both fixtures between the teams last season and this trend looked set to continue when the home side started with vigour and passion. Long Sutton were given very little time on the ball and struggled to get into the game at any point in the match. The Cambridge midfield and forwards linked up well and created opportunities throughout the first half, and at half time it was 4-0 with goals from Tim Clapp (twice), Eliot Read and one from sweeper Chris Graveling.

The second half continued in the same vein as the first, as the home side were keen to ensure that Long Sutton were given no chances to get back into the game. Creating chances at will, it was sweeper and man of the match Chris Graveling that grabbed 3 more goals, all from short corners. This was his largest haul for Cambridge South and capped a fine all-round display.
