Men's 1sts beat local rivals Cambridge Nomads 3

Cambridge South, proudly sponsored by PwC, secured a straightforward win against a struggling Nomads Thirds side.

The away side had only 3 points to their name this season and so Cambridge South were looking for a comfortable win this week, but struggled to find any rhythm in the first half. Some sloppy passing and a lack of structure ensured that, for the first half at least, the game could have swung either way.

Cambridge South stepped up a gear in the second half and scored 3 goals within 15 minutes of the restart, courtesy of Chris Graveling, Chris Baker and debutant Dave Ward. This effectively killed off the game and the home side were content to sit back and contain the away team. Nomads scored a consolation goal with 6 minutes remaining on the clock, but didn't look like getting any more goals.
