Men's 3rds v : Awaiting Result

A good, competitive game in bracing conditions. Kettering were the more composed and had superior skills, but Cambridge South battled away and, particularly in the second half, played well as a team. Throughout the game Passmore, Evans, Glover and Jelley in defence were decisive and unlucky to concede two goals - both from breakaway moves straight up the pitch.

Midfield and attack made many good moves, with quick passes and enthusiasm to get the ball back. Jake Lewis in particular was composed and showed great maturity and skill in linking up along the right wing. Everyone played well, and South got a deserved consolation goal from a pinpoint long pass by Andy Lewis for Rob Barton to bamboozle the Kettering keeper one-on-one.

Frequent substitutions were needed as players succombed to various muscle strains but this didn't hold the team back and the final few minutes saw the best of South as they sought an equaliser.

Throughout the seventy minutes, Cambridge South played well, givng the best team performance of the campaign and deserving the win.
