Ladies' 1sts lose to Wisbech Town 2

On Saturday South travelled to Wisbech to play their 2nds, who have been doing well and are at present top of the league.

Wisbech broke first and within minutes managed an early goal. Soon after South got back into the game and had lots of chances forcing Wisbech keeper to make many saves.

The second half saw South starting the better side, with Gemma Thomas scoring through a well worked corner reaching the bottom right of the goal.

This woke South up and they went on to have many more chances through more long and short corners. Gemma came very close to scoring a second. After dribbling the ball around the whole of Wisbech’s defence the ball went inches wide of the left post. Tash Cox, running in on the left was also unlucky not to get a stick to it.

Wisbech found an attack and in the final five minutes managed to score two goals to put them 3-1 in the lead. This didn't deter South, who continued to work hard. When the final whistle blew it was obvious both teams thought the score line did not do justice to the performance given by South.
