Ladies' 1sts v lose to City of Peterborough 3

Saturday saw the Ladies' 1sts fall to the mighty hands of Peterbrough's Ladies' 3rd team. A hard fought game with possession 50/50 did not reflect the final result with a half time score of 2-0, both scored from short corners, and a final score of 3-0.

Peterbrough selected a very skilful team and although we met them with passes and movement on pitch, our lack of aggression on attack may have given them more possession then they deserved.

The second half brought Cambridge South into a more aggressive attack, with the majority of play arguably in the oppositions half. With close strikes on target, and more play in the D, it was disapointing that the goals did not come.

The Man of the Match rightly went to Nicky Bareham, who as left wing found her flow with great runs up the wing, pulling into the centre to have a crack on goal and hassle the goal keeper.

Overall, a great game that pulled our standard up to give them a very hard game on pitch. We take forward to this weekend, 1) the need for more aggression to attack, 2) looking for passes in space and 3) the want to claim every ball, so that we are running to meet every ball rather than waiting for a pass to our feet.
