Men's 3rds lose to Cambridge City

Lots of effort. Injuries to Paul South (ankle), Shahzad Ali (leg), John Sharp (various). Some great saves from GK Chris Collinson. Enough scoring chances, arising from CSouth short corners, and flowing attacking moves. Ian Evans and Dom Nelson, James Raikes and John Greaves all unlucky not to score as shots shaved the post or got deflected.

Everyone played their part, as CSouth midfield battled hard (especially Richard Marley) to stop the strong and skillful Camb City playmakers dominating, the defence shackled the star City centre-forward well, and the home attack passed well, used the wings effectively, produced crosses, and frequent pressure in the D. But City scored 3. We didn't.

Rutland triumphed again vs high flyers Spalding. So the thirds are heading for 6NW(S) after a trying season where mid-table performances didn't result in enough points to ensure safety.

Once more the Corner House did us proud with some terrific lasagne and chips

Some great saves, and positive interceptions to thwart attackers.

Heroic on short corners, taking a battering from various Camb City shots to the body, and tigerish tackling.
