Ladies' 1sts lose to Uni

On a cold and frosty January afternoon, Cambridge South ladies 1s stepped onto the pitch with a sense of anticipation to face a clearly well practised Uni side. The scene was set, cameras were rolling...Uni set off like greyhounds after a hare (the metaphorical goal), with a ‘Go Hattie’ here and a ‘go Darcey’ there, they looked well good for a bit but South were even more well gooder. Then Alice scored from a short corner and it was a blinder of a strike! Ginge was bobbing about in the centre of the pitch, making herself a well bad nuisance to ‘Hels’ and the other posh totties of Cambridge Uni.

Moving on to half time, it was 1-1. Our all powerful leader roused us with words that we’ve now forgotten, but we’re sure they were great and we probably didn’t listen properly. The second half didn’t go so well...

Georgie made a triumphant return to the pitch, tapping another goal in at the left post. But then Uni won a series of short corners and scored twice in quick succession via some well drilled routines and excellent open play.

Hayley and Rhi are sad to be leaving such a hoorah and spiffing bunch of people.
