Ladies' 2nds lose to Nomads

The Ladies 2's last match of the season was against Cambridge Nomads. We were fairly safe from relegation (3rd from the bottom of the table...) and they were 3rd from the top, so we just wanted to have a run and some fun in our last game. And of course we hoped to win!

Well, that last bit didn't happen but it was a great fight along the way! Our defenders battled hard against the consistent attack from Nomads in their startling pink away colours. Tracey, Serin and Lou from our usual back line with Cassie kindly agreeing to step in as goalie and Ann coming from the midfield to strengthen. Ann did such a good job that she was voted man of the match!

The heat of the day had everyone melting by half time, and we were 1-0 down. Our forward line had fought in the circle with plenty of attempts on goal, but their defenders kept goals at bay. Unfortunately it was the same for the second half as well. We continued to fight and run and pass and have shots at goal, but to no avail. So big ups to Ley, Ash, Ingrid and Vicky for running hard and keeping strong! Our midfielders (Sam, Carla and myself Liz) were run ragged by the opposition's ever changing and youthful mids, but regardless the final score confirmed their 3rd placing on the table with a 3-0 win.

Huge thanks to Tracey for organizing the team and motivating us all week after week. We really appreciate the time and dedication she's put in this season. Thanks from everyone Tracey!

It's been a great first season for me and I look forward to the next. See you all at the dinner!
