Men's 1sts v Market Deeping 1 : Match Drawn

Cambridge South sneaked a point away to Market Deeping with a last-gasp goal from Chris Graveling.

The draw reflected an even contest between two relegated sides who will be hoping to challenge for promotion at the end of the season. Deeping took the lead in the first half from a scooped short corner after South had had a goal disallowed. The visitors struck back before the break through Jon Taylor but sustained Deeping pressure in the second half produced a goal from a penalty flick after a shot had been illegally stopped on the line.

Cambridge fought back hard in the last ten minutes, however, forcing a series of penalty corners and almost equalizing through a powerful solo run from Taylor. Graveling's match-tying goal came with just seconds to go.

South captain Steve Parker was satisfied with his team's performance. "The draw was a fair result and I was very happy with the way we fought back. We look to have a good foundation to build on for the rest of the season."
