A Misty Morning Win

Eimear Lee

As Saturday morning dawned, South emerged from the early morning fog, lured by the promise of Katie's delicious brownies.

Visibility was poor at push back but some great attacking runs in the first half saw some South chances ping around the posts but unfortunately nothing going in. Emma-Rose and Kath had MOM nominations for their fantastic running up the wings and generally great play throughout.

With the first subbing rotation, Eimear was ready to go on but, in an extremely lemon-worthy move, only at that point realised she had not remembered to bring her playing shirt…

With the fog lifting just enough for the other half of the pitch to become visible, the half time Jelly Babies seemed to provide an injection of energy for South. Dani was working extremely hard in midfield, sending great balls through.

In a MOM performance, Kendra put two goals in the back of the opposition's net, the first of which was the result of a great break and run up the pitch by Izzy, and the second the result of sheer Kendra determination to get the ball past the keeper. Strong defensive play left Loopy a bit bored in our goal in what was a strong L2s' performance that ended two-nil to South.
