Men's 2nds lose to Boston 2

CSHC 2nds, with a makeshift team against second in the league Boston, battled manfully to hold the home side to a creditable draw.

Sadly that was only the second half.

In the first half Boston scored three without reply, all from their star centre forward, who managed to get away from the markers and get to the ball more quickly than those around him on all three occasions. CSHC were under pressure throughout the half, and it was only the masterful Poole diving repeatedly to thwart shots, who kept the score down. The defence stuck to the task resolutely, and there were a few breakaway attacks, but the final ball eluded the away side.

After half time, CSHC got into the game and had several good attacks with numerous crosses from the lively Lewis and Greaves sadly not converted. Boston got their fourth against the run of play, and the consolation goal came from a move through the centre by Jackson and Waller, who grew in confidence during the game to make an effective midfield combination. The ball came to the lurking Greaves close to the penalty spot, who pounced on it and pushed it past the diving keeper.
