Men's 2nds lose to Boston 2

Not a good day. Boston grabbed an early lead as the home defence failed to deal with a free hit into the circle, allowing a deflection to get through a crowded D. Although Cambridge South fought back with their customary resolve, with some good moves notably via Tom Moy and Andy Lewis including some excellent passing, there were few chances.

The second half was lively, too much so for Chris Clegg, whose committed defending got him an (accidental) bang on the head resulting in a 2.5 hour stay in Adenbrokes having his left temple glued back together.

Back on the pitch Boston had much of the play through their quality central midfield/forward spine with effective route one hockey. South, although defending heroically to prevent further away goals, were unable to snatch an equaliser leaving them three points behind the league leaders.
