Ladies' 1sts draw with Sawtry 1

Cambridge South played Sawtry on Saturday. It was a great game with lots of end to end action.

Sawtry scored an early goal first via a deflection, but after this South had plenty of possession earning themselves many short corners. It was through a short corner that South equalised, as Liles Dee slipped the ball short to Tash Cox on the left, who blasted in a stunning goal to the bottom right corner.

South continued to keep up the pressure with Liles coming close to scoring – the ball inches wide. Margot Overbeek had a great game making several important tackles and often helping the right wing to attack.

After half time the game stayed much the same with South getting many quick breaks. Sarah Martin worked tirelessly in midfield throughout the entire game, making many important strong tackles and was unlucky not to score near the end.

When the final whistle blew it was 1-1. It was a good game although South were unlucky not to get all three points.
