No Banana

Dani Kilsby-Steele

A pretty grey Saturday morning, but thankfully a breeze brought more welcome weather compared to the tropical heat of the previous week.

A tricky game, with most of the action coming from South but Royston hung in there with a young team which has improved a lot since our last meeting.

The defence unit worked well this week and the mids played the ball up the field, delivering a number of chances for the forwards. Unfortunately the goal evaded all our efforts, with many just sliding past or pinging off the posts.

There were a couple of hopeful moments but due to some naughty feet (ours and Jan's!) there were no clean shots to the back of the net.

A well matched game and well held for the final whistle to call a nil-all draw - unless you were Hannah (LoM) or Emma who thought we had won 1-0! Sadly not… However, Katie's fabulous Nutella cakes brightened up the day and Kendra took home MoM for never giving up and fighting to the final seconds.

We won one-nil, right?
