Men's 2nds beat Harlow Town 2

A good performance in a fast, open game. Intelligent passing and use of the wide pitch offset the lack of match fitness for this first game of the season. CSHC had many chances, but sadly the Harlow keeper played a blinder. New boy Rob Barton in particular was unlucky with a number of shots including one disallowed, but looked promising. The midfield hub of Harvey and Creed controlled the game except for a ten minute period in the second half. Luckily Matt Bailey, dominant as ever at sweeper, snuffed out any threat.

The best attacks came from the partnership of Samin Ishtiaq and Jack Chalk on the right, but the only goal of the game was struck from long range by the only-just-single and lively Andy Lewis, from the textbook Greaves-Lewis short corner routine.

Tougher tests await, but this effort showed promise for a good season in 5NW against a team that beat us convincingly the previous time we met.
